A city's fight scene rarely announces its own history. It accumulates as scattered dates: a gym opens, a card is staged, a title changes hands. Read in order, those points describe a shape. What follows is the Tijuana record from 2006 to 2026, held to the events the documentation can place on a calendar. Cards, careers, and claims that are not yet sourced to that standard are left out, and where the spine locks only a date and a fact, that is all this page states.
The older stage
Before any of the gyms in this account existed, the city already had a room built for fighting. The Auditorio Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno, known locally as the Auditorio de Tijuana, opened in 1969 with capacity for roughly 4,500 people. For decades a hall of that size set the shape of a fight night in the city: a civic venue, a paying crowd, an event staged as much for spectacle as for sport. That is the backdrop against which the more recent record reads.
2006: a gym opens
The modern timeline begins in 2006, when Raúl Arvizu founded Entram Gym in Tijuana. The room was a training academy rather than an arena. In the years that followed it became a fixed point in the city's fight calendar, both as a place where fighters prepared and, in time, as a venue where cards were staged.
2008 and 2011: the boxing record
Two dated points from the boxing side of the scene belong in the same account. In June 2008, Arturo Badillo knocked out Javier Gallo at the Auditorio Municipal. Three years later, in 2011, Badillo challenged for the WBA super flyweight title. Both entries are fixed to a year in the public record, and both sit inside the window this page covers.
A scene is a sequence of rooms and dates before it is anything else.
July 2020: a card behind closed doors
On July 3, 2020, the promotion UWC held UWC 22, its first event at Entram, behind closed doors during the COVID-19 pandemic. With public gatherings restricted, the card ran in a training room rather than in a hall built for a crowd. The venue and the conditions are documented separately in the AXIS record of UWC Mexico.
June 2021: a title changes hands
In June 2021, at UFC 263, Brandon Moreno submitted Deiveson Figueiredo to become the first Mexico-born UFC champion. The bout took place at a UFC event in the United States. It is recorded here as a dated point in the same period this timeline covers, when the sport's top level came within reach of fighters from the city.
2025 and 2026: the amateur circuit
The most recent dated points come from LAP, an amateur circuit running out of the city's gyms. On July 20, 2025, LAP 1 took place at Entram Gym, where Doedk Rodríguez defeated Cristóbal Pérez Ruiz by split decision. A little over a year later, LAP 06, billed as Rodríguez versus Flores, is scheduled for July 26, 2026 at Plaza Palacios in the Zona Río. A note on scope. This page lists only what the AXIS fact spine currently locks to a date: the 1969 civic hall, the founding of Entram Gym in 2006, two dated points from the city's boxing record, the July 2020 UWC card, a June 2021 UFC title change, and the first and sixth LAP cards.
