A September Return for the Corridor's UFC Strawweight

Yazmín Jáuregui is booked against Vanessa Demopoulos on 26 September. It is the road from the Baja coast, through a Tijuana gym, to a cage in Nevada, stated in one career.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added a women's strawweight bout between Yazmín Jáuregui and Vanessa Demopoulos to its 26 September card at the Meta Apex in Enterprise, Nevada. The event is UFC Fight Night 289, headlined by Norma Dumont against Ailín Pérez. As of 1 August 2026 the card sits two months out, and a card two months out is a card that can change.

The fighter the corridor sends

Jáuregui is 11-2 in professional mixed martial arts as of 1 August 2026, seven of those wins by knockout or technical knockout, and 3-2 inside the promotion. She fights out of Entram Gym in Tijuana, the room this site has covered as the corridor's main destination for arriving fighters.

Her last appearance was on 14 September 2024 at UFC 306, a loss to Ketlen Souza by technical submission at 3:02 of the first round. September is her first booked outing since that night. Nothing in the public record explains the interval, and this page does not speculate about it.

Rosarito, then Tijuana, then Nevada

Jáuregui moved from Rosarito, Baja California, to Tijuana to train full time in mixed martial arts, and Raúl Arvizu took her into Entram Gym. Reported that plainly it is a biography. Read against the rest of the corridor it is a route: a coastal municipality that produces fighters, a Tijuana room that develops them, and a promotion in Nevada that signs them.

That first leg is a live question again. Rosarito is rebuilding the layer that would let a fighter start there, with a municipal commission and a returning promotion, while the coast's best-known product still drives north to train. The route in her career is the one the coast is trying to shorten.

A coastal municipality that produces fighters, a Tijuana room that develops them, and a promotion in Nevada that signs them.

The opponent

Demopoulos is an American who has competed at strawweight and flyweight and is 11-8 in professional mixed martial arts as of 1 August 2026, with four of her wins by submission and one by knockout. That distribution is the shape of a fighter who looks for the finish on the ground rather than standing.

Set beside Jáuregui's seven knockout or technical knockout wins, the matchup asks one question with an unusually clean edge: where the fight is contested. Neither answer is available in advance, which is the ordinary reason to watch.
